Bills and automatic plans

The interim bill is half the previous year’s annualized levy. The final bill collects the remaining current-year balance. A monthly preauthorized plan instead takes ten payments on the first business day from January through October.

January-to-June monthly payments use ten percent of the prior levy; July-to-October amounts adjust to the current year. Taxes must be current to join. The due-date plan withdraws on the two normal bill deadlines. Supplementary, omitted and additional bills are not automatically withdrawn under these plans.

MyTax and arrears

Set up MyTax with the latest bill’s roll number, access code and full name. Change automatic-payment details through My Profile.

The arrears plan needs approval and withdraws on the final business day monthly. Interest and penalties continue. Contact tax@cityofkingston.ca or 613-546-0000 before assuming a plan has stopped additional charges.

Late charges and receipts

Unpaid tax attracts 1.25% immediately after the due date, then 1.25% on the first of later months. Not receiving a bill is not an exemption.

Current payment receipts are free using the stated bill/envelope or Payment Centre route. Past-year duplicate statements cost $19 per year per property. The Payment Centre changes service on November 2, 2026; confirm the current hours before visiting.
